Mission, Vision and Values
We exist to magnify the glory of God’s grace in Jesus Christ by making disciples in Uniontown, our region and our world.
Our vision is to reach all of Uniontown, PA and our surrounding region with the gospel of Jesus Christ by making disciples in our city and its neighboring communities and planting gospel-centered churches in our region.
Worship – Worshiping God is the end for which we were made and redeemed. Therefore, when we gather together to worship God we will seek to be a church that cultivates gospel-saturated worship; that is, worship that is fueled by and centered on the good news of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection.
Mission – The mission of the church is to “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that [Jesus] commanded [us]” (Matt. 28:19-20). We believe that the biblical pattern given to the church by Jesus and His apostles to accomplish this mission is two-fold: 1) We, as redeemed followers of Jesus, are to live missionally in our world; that is, we are to engage our culture, family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. with the gospel of Jesus in order to see people’s lives transformed to the glory of God; and 2) We are to be a church that makes disciples and plants new churches locally, nationally and globally. Therefore, we will seek to be a church that is on a gospel-centered mission; that is, a church that makes disciples and plants new churches while orienting all of our cultural-engaging, missional activity around the reconciling message of the gospel of Jesus.
Community – Community is at the heart of what it means for us to be a local, New Testament church. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are reconciled to God and brought into fellowship not only with Him, but also with one another. Therefore, we will seek to be a church that fosters and encourages gospel-focused community; that is, missional gatherings throughout our city and region in which we come together in order to build up and encourage one another in a community that is created and sustained by the gospel of Jesus.
Love/Service – Serving our community and one another is one of the ways we seek to glorify God and love people. Therefore, we will seek to be a church that participates in gospel-driven service; that is, community service, as well as service within our own covenant family of faith, which arises out of hearts that have been transformed by God’s love and a desire to see Jesus’ kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
